Friday 24th June: Football Celebration BBQ
To celebrate the achievements of the Year 4/5 girls football teams, we had a BBQ on our new fire pit. We had bacon sandwiches, cheese toasties and toasted marshmallows, a bit of football, and lots of fun. Well done again to everyone who was involved.
Friday 10th June
What a lovely start to the final term of the year. The sun has been out and the children have been full of enthusiasm. In maths we have been focusing on properties of shapes and in particular angles, in English we started our ‘action’ story theme, we have been having trials for the athletics festival and all the children did great, putting 100% effort in, in computing we have developed our plans and scripts for creating a green screen weather forecast and in history we have written a discussion about whether we should support the King during the Shang Dynasty. A full week but our class are always up to the task.
Friday 27th May
Surf’s Up! What a fab day at Tynemouth both Year 5 classes had on Thursday. The sun was out, the rain was out and the smiles were out for a day of surfing and beach fun. Both classes had a wonderful time learning how to surf, catching some waves and generally having a great time playing at the beach. We were so impressed with all the children in the way they all embraced surfing and the confidence they showed in the sea. We were also super impressed with the attitude of all the children towards the instructors, each other and enjoying life.
Jubilee’s Up – What a great day we had on Friday celebrating the Queen’s Jubilee, Emmaville style, with a brilliant garden party. The children came in dressed in their party clothes and had a fab day of mindfulness, a picnic, a bouncy castle, ice cream and jubilee art! They also got to meet the special lady, Queen Elizabeth, and have their photo taken with her. A big thank you to Miss Armstrong for organising at the fun and well done to the children for embracing it!
Friday 13th May
In preparation for the Queen’s Jubilee celebrations, Emmaville students had the opportunity to take part in a dance workshop to celebrate her 70 years on the throne. Each class learnt one dance from one of the decade of her reign, and then they all performed theirs to the school. Class Antarctica learnt a dance for the 90s from the Spice Girls song ‘Spice Up Your Life’. The children had a fantastic time and put on a great performance for the school.
