School being closed didn't stop us celebrating World Book Day 2021 in true Emmaville style. The day, in fact the whole week, was packed full of exciting activities linked to our love of all thinks books and reading! Each key stage had workshops provided by Big Foot theatre company which were lots of fun, as well as the different activities shown below.
Create a book scene in a box
We launched a whole school competition to create a book scene in a box. As ever, we have been blown away by the creativity of our Emmaville families. Here are a selection of some of the wonderful creations, and check out the home learning gallery pages to see the winning entries.
It wouldn't be World Book Day without dressing up as our favourite book characters....
The Masked Reader
Finally, for a little bit of fun whilst the children were at home, we hosted a Masked Reader challenge. The children had to listen to members of staff reading extracts from their favourite books or poems, but to make it a fun challenge, each member of staff was behind a mask! Watch the video here.
