Emmaville Primary School

Blaydon and District Year 5/6 7-aside Football League

1st April 2023

The Blaydon and District season came to an end in April with Round Three of the league and then the Finals of the competition.

B&D West League: Round Three

In Round Three, Emmaville went into the competition in third place in a good position to compete for top spot. Once again, every match was closely contested. The team played extremely well, showing a lot of good quality football and fantastic attitude to work hard, complete and play fairly. We came out with one win, three draws and a narrow defeat. At the end of three rounds, the team finished in fourth position and went on to compete in the Blaydon Plate Finals against the other third and fourth placed teams. Congratulation to Crookhill Primary on being the B&D West League winners.

Blaydon and District: Plate Finals

For the Blaydon Plate finals, we played at Winlaton West School in lovely sunshine and on some super pitches. As with the whole season, every match was extremely close and goals were at a premium. Every Emmaville player was excellent both in the play, attitude and effort, but unfortunely, no matter how hard we tried, how well we played and how many chances were created, the ball just didn’t seem to want to go in. The team came away with one loss and three draws to finish fourth in the plate.

Over the whole season, it has been an absolute pleasure to coach not only the team, but also all the children who have been part of the squad and training.  There have been a number of changes in the team over the year and every single player that has played has been super and made an important contribution. Likewise, those children who have not played for the team but have come regularly to training sessions have had a great attitude of wanting to learn, being supportive of the team and enjoying the sessions. Well done Emmaville footballers.
