Emmaville Primary School

Notice board

Dear Parents/Carers,
As we are all aware, the past 18 months have been very challenging. However, this period of challenge has given us an opportunity to look at our practices and to assess what has worked well during the restrictions. There have been some lessons that we have learned from the pandemic experience and we have therefore revised some of our procedures.
Our priority is always the wellbeing and education of our pupils. It is vitally important that we have a calm start to the school day, which we believe is very beneficial to the children and staff. We have therefore adapted the drop off and collection arrangements of the children.
The table below includes information of the new procedures that will be in place from Monday 27th September.
Year Group   Entrance Arrival Collection
Nursery Crawcrook Park gate 9am - 12pm 12pm - 3pm
Reception Reception Gate 9am 3.10pm
Year 1 Front Yard 8.50am 3.10pm
Year 2 Front Yard 8.55am 3.15pm
Year 3 Crawcrook Park Gate 8.50am 3.15pm
Year 4 Crawcrook Park Gate 8.55am 3.20pm
Year 5 Side gate 8.50am 3.15pm
Year 6 Side gate 8.55am 3.20pm
Key Stage 2 children will be collected and dismissed by their teachers at the entrance/exit gate allocated to them. The Year 3 teachers will be on the yard at 8.45am in a morning when they will open the gate leading from Crawcrook Park to allow the Year 3 pupils to line up in the yard ready for 8.50am.
At the end of the school day, Year 5 and Year 6 pupils will be accompanied to the top of the path by a member of staff to ensure that they leave school safely. Key Stage 2 children with siblings who have the same finishing times as themselves, will be able to walk around the path that follows the school field to meet their parents/carers in the front yard.
On a morning, if children arrive at school after their class has entered their classroom, please make sure they are brought to the main school entrance where a member of the office staff will come to the door to collect them. Parents are not permitted to drop children off at the classroom doors as that is too disruptive to the pupils and teachers.
From Monday 27th September, we will be resuming our pre-pandemic wraparound hours: Breakfast Club – 7.30am until the school day begins; After School Club – End of the school day until 5.55pm. Please can all Breakfast club and After school club correspondence be emailed to joanneliddle@emmavilleprimary.org.uk.
We are very much looking forward to the year ahead with the children.
Very best wishes,
Avril Armstrong
