Day Four

Bellewaerde Theme Park

A day that started with birthday wishes, balloons and banners could only go one way.  Well, actually it went left, right, up, down, round-and-round and upside-down, but whichever way you look at it, it was a day to remember.  The weather has been all over the place this week, but we really seem to have had luck on our side; there was a brief rain shower shortly after we arrived at the park, but it was when we were on the log flume, so the extra water didn’t really make any difference, and then the sun came out and stayed with us for the rest of the day.

Of course, we couldn’t let our newly-minted eleven-year-olds go without birthday cake, so after our evening meal, we sang them that old favourite and then they made a wish. There was just enough time for an evening mess-about, and then upstairs for a shower (one every night…!) and pack for the morning.

The week seems to have flown past, with each day filled with new experiences, developing friendships and flourishing confidence.  Throughout it all, the children have all been superstars, and it has been a real pleasure to spend time with them.  See you all soon!
