Celebration Assemblies

22nd December 2022

The final week of our Autumn Term has been one of festivities, from parties to pantomimes, and has also been an occasion for us to gather and celebrate together.  The first of our assemblies had a musical theme, with both staff and children creating music for us to listen to and sing along with.  We are lucky to have such talented performers, and it was lovely to enjoy such great music.
We also came together to celebrate the true meaning of Christmas, with a performance by some of the Year 6 children about the Christian symbolism of the season.  The rest of the Year 6 pupils also sang beautifully with the Year 1 children in a joint performance.  Throughout this was present our local MP, Liz Twist, who was here to announce first prize for her Christmas card competition.  As Liz is MP for the whole of the Blaydon constituency,  there would have been hundreds of entries for this, so we were all hugely proud when our very own Noah in North America class was presented with an array of artists' materials for his amazing design that celebrated everything about the year 2022.  Noah's design has already been made into Christmas cards that have been sent far and wide on behalf of Liz.  What an honour and a super achievement!
