Year 6 Residential Trip to London

20th June 2023

Last week, sixty-five Year 6 children set off on their residential visit to London. Oh, what fun they had. The children were an absolute delight, a credit to themselves, their families and to our school community. They set on off on a rather miserable, wet Tuesday morning. However, once they arrived in London, they were greeted with sunshine and the sun continued to shine throughout the duration of the visit. For all seven members of staff who supported the children on the visit, it was a pleasure to see the joy on the faces of the children as they explored the Science Museum, mingled with celebrities in Madame Tussauds, visited the historical London Tower, waved at King Charles from the gates of Buckingham Palace, gasped at the size of Big Ben as they sailed down the river Thames, spent an enjoyable evening at the Lyceum Theatre watching the amazing cast of the Lion King and enjoyed the magical experience of the Harry Potter studios.

The visit gave our children the opportunity to not only explore the amazing capital city, but it also helped them to acquire historical and scientific knowledge, as well as allowing them to have an appreciation of the arts.  Everyone had such a wonderful time.
