Emmaville Primary School

Platinum Jubilee Garden Party

27th May 2022

To celebrate our Queen's Platinum Jubilee, Emmaville hosted a right royal garden party.  Everyone dressed up in their finest clothes and enjoyed a day of celebration and fantastic activities.  There were picnics in the sun, a bouncy castle to to put the spring into our day, mindfulness yoga sessions to calm us down, Queen-themed art, an ice cream from a Miss Whippy van and even a visit from Elsa, Anna and Kristoff from Frozen for the younger children.  Even Her Majesty made an appearance, keeping very still for class photographs.  She really is very good at smiling.

It was a wonderful day -  fun and laughter filled our school, and we were also treated to the Y3 choir singing their special jubilee song; a tribute to the Queen with lyrics to the music, ‘He’s got the whole world in his hands’.  However, the choir’s version was, ‘She’s got the whole world in her hands,’ very appropriate for the occasion.  A special thanks to Richard, one of our music teachers, who wrote the lyrics for the song that the Y3 choir sang for us.
