We have really enjoyed our English lessons this week as we have been celebrating National Poetry Day which was on the 1st October. The theme for the week has been "A World of Wonder" and the children have really loved exploring different ideas that make them feel inspired.

We have looked at lots of different styles of poetry and practiced using poetic techniques to make our poems sound better. I have been blown away by the children's writing this week.

What a beautiful day we've all had today celebrating the life of little Oscar in our Rainbow Fun Run. The children had such fun cheering each other on and we all enjoyed a lovely ice lolly at the end of our run. We also raised an incredible amount of money for a brilliant cause.

Welcome back!

We have had a brilliant first week in Africa Class. It has been so lovely getting to know the children and hearing all about their wonderful Summer holidays. To start off our year, we have been thinking about what it means to be a class team and what our role is within our school community. We have had the opportunity to also do lots of fun things like designing birthday cards and using water colours to create our 'Doorway into Year 4' poem.

I have been so impressed with how the children have settled into their new class. I can't wait to see how they progress this year.
