Welcome to the Southern Europe Year 3 Class Page.  Here, you can find out about everything that we've been doing this term.

Friday 11th September

Another wonderful week! This week we have gotten stuck into some of our learning and the children have shown me just how fabulous they are! We have been looking at adding multiple addends in maths – which Southern Europe Class were utterly brilliant at.

One amazing thing I want to celebrate is our PE work this week. Our children took part in the cross-country trials on Wednesday afternoon with Mrs Hamilton and Miss Rochester, and I could hear the cheers of encouragement from where I was working at the other side of school! In our other PE lesson, we worked on co-operation and teamwork. The children were challenged to organise themselves into different orders, which they aced – so we made it trickier. The children then had to organise themselves… without speaking! We learned our own ways to communicate quickly without making a sound. It was amazing to see them all celebrate with one another when they realised that they had done it!

Friday 4th September

Oh wow – I am so impressed with Southern Europe class this week! The children have been absolutely incredible in their first week in year 3. They have worked their socks off in so many different lessons and have made me so proud.

I want to celebrate how hard the children worked in our art lesson today. We have been studying a Southern European artist called Amedeo Modigliani. He created such interesting artwork, and it was fantastic to hear the children pointing out the features that make his work so unique. We noticed the long facial features, the almost blank eyes and the muted colours. I am so impressed with the children’s noticing skills!

Keep it up Southern Europe – you are all superstars and I am so proud of you!
