Week beginning 19th January
 
This week 15 Year 1 pupils had the exciting opportunity to visit Gateshead International Stadium for a KS1 Indoor Cricket Festival. The children were able to practice their throwing, catching, batting and fielding skills through a range of exciting games including 'Round the Milky Way' and 'Caterpillar Cricket'. The children were great ambassadors to our school, and Miss Pearson and Miss Cormack were proud of their great sportsmanship.

Week Beginning 12th January
 
This week England have been thinking about how to work with a partner in their PSHE lessons. First, we completed a mirroring challenging, copying the moves of our partner as closely as we could. Then, we chose partners at random and completed a 'welly drawing' challenge, where they had to work together to listen to each other and agree on patterns / images to include on their wellies to make them a pair. I was really impressed with the way the children respected each other's ideas and worked together.
