We have had a brilliant enrichment week this week with a focus on nature and sustainability. Lydia from our local household recycling centre came in to provide us with a workshop yesterday where we made our own bird feeders out of plastic bottles.
This half term we have loved working with Ian our tennis coach. He has taught us a range of tennis skilled and we even got to play our own house team tennis tournament! Well done to Tyne for being able to lift the trophy!

We all learnt a new skill this week! In DT, we practiced a running stitch and a cross-stitch on a piece of fabric in preparation for making our Egyptian collars over the next few weeks. It was quite fiddly and took a lot of concentration, but the children were determined and really tried their hardest. They produced some amazing results and I can't wait to see what they produce in our DT lessons!

What a great day we all had on Wednesday at Sports Day! We were so lucky with the weather and, as always, GSSP hosted a fantastic day. The children were amazing and tried their hardest in all events, cheering each other on and having lots of fun!
Thank you to all the families who came out to support.

We had so much fun yesterday when we had a rugby coach come in and do a tag rugby session with us! It was fast-paced, exciting and very competitive.

We had the most amazing afternoon taking part in our school Rainbow Fun Run!
It was fantastic to see the children trying their very best despite the heat and cheering each other on. We even got our faces painted and enjoyed an ice lolly in the sunshine!

Year 4 Trip to Vindolanda
We had a fantastic time at Vindolanda on Tuesday this week. The children found exploring the ruins of the Roman fort incredibly interesting and they worked really hard to use their imaginations to picture what it would have looked like thousands of years ago. We had the opportunity to speak to some archaeologists on site who were excavating a new part of the site. In the museum, we saw some of the artefacts that the archaeologists had found, including shoes, skulls and coins. We also saw the Vindolanda writing tablets as well as a temple replica on site.
The children were fantastic and very mindful of respecting the historical site, as well as other visitors.

Welcome back! I hope you all had a lovely Easter break.
We have had a very exciting week this week. We took part in a 'Dance-a-thon' on Tuesday afternoon which was a lot of fun and we were able to choreograph moves to our own dance. We had an amazing time singing and playing instruments during our music workshop on Wednesday. Then, we found out some really interesting historical facts from the Mayor visiting our school on Thursday!
