Emmaville Primary School

Africa Year 4

Welcome to the Africa Year 4 Class Page.  Here, you can find out about everything that we've been doing this term.
Thursday 28th March

What a great way to finish the term! We have had an amazing week studying British Values and learning about the Protected Characteristics. We enjoyed using our democratic voice and voting on whether to have a non-uniform day today - we have been very glad to have one! We have discussed our differences and how they can be used to make communities stronger and we have practiced team work, showing respect and listening to each other, topped off with a board game session this morning.

On top of all of that the children have also been eggcredibly creative with their eggcellent Easter Egg decorating and fantastic posters and origami stars.

Well done everyone on a great half term! Enjoy your Easter holidays and I look forward to seeing you all again for the Summer Term :)
Friday 22nd March

We have had a busy week this week with lots of writing in English resulting in some fantastic suspense stories! We have also worked really hard on our handwriting and are looking forward to displaying how beautiful our work can be.

We have also enjoyed celebrating Dance with the dance festival and supporting our peers with their hard work! Well done everyone.

Finally, we had a great Prayer Space session on Thursday where we got to share our knowledge about Christian beliefs surrounding Easter celebrations. I was really impressed by how much the children could remember and their understanding of the subject. They really enjoyed the prayer space activities and were excited to share what they had been creating.

Have a lovely weekend :)
Friday 8th March

We have had a lovely week this week and a particular highlight was our World Book Day celebrations! All the children looked fantastic and we had a great time sharing the books which had inspired our outfits. During our afternoon session we welcomed some children from Year 2 to join us and ran a 'Book Cafe'. We enjoyed sharing different genres and types of books with them and helping them to 'taste' some new stories, poems and facts. Thank you Year 2 for being so enthusiastic and well done to Year 4 for your fantastic support.

Happy Weekend!
Friday 1st March

Happy St David's Day!
We have had such a lovely first week back after half term. The children have wowed me with some great explanation work in Geography. We looked at the features of Earthquakes and Volcanoes and the children were very good at explaining similarities and differences between the causes of each natural disaster.
Well done everyone.
Have a lovely weekend :)
