Friday 2nd February
In Year 2 we focus on learning the 1, 2, 5 and 10 times tables throughout the year in our times tables sessions each week. Following on from multiplication the last few weeks, we have been beginning to understand division through visual and physical representations. Miss Woolard was so impressed with how we can write both the repeated addition and multiplication sentence for each representation. We have also been 'blowing Miss Woolard's socks off' with our effort and engagement on Doodle Maths at home. We are working as a team to try and get everyone into the green zone.
Friday 26th January
This half term in PE, we have been doing a unit of gymnastics. Over six lessons, we are building on our skills developed in Year 1 and working on our stretches, rolls, jumps and travelling movements with the goal of creating and performing a gymnastics sequence combining all of these skills. This week our skill development has been in developing the barrel roll, straight roll and the forward roll. We worked very well with our partners, taking on the role of coaching each other to improve our rolls. We had to observe our partners and give them some advice to further improve their rolls. Next week, we look forward to combining all these skills to create and perform a sequence using apparatus.
