Emmaville Primary School

England Year 1

Welcome to the England Year 1 Class Page.  Here, you can find out about everything that we've been doing this term.
Week beginning 23rd September

We have been great mathematicians in England Class this week, learning all about the symbols >, < and =. As a class we have used these symbols and our great maths vocabulary to compare numbers using cubes and writing number sentences to match.

In other lessons we also enjoyed making Jack and the Beanstalk levers in DT, and learning about the Great Fire of London in History!
Week beginning 16th September

We have had a fantastic week full of learning in England Class. The children have had lots of opportunities to practice their fine motor skills through cutting activities during the week, including making slider mechanisms in DT and stick puppets to retell The Gingerbread Man in English.

Week beginning 2nd September

Welcome to the England class page! We have had a fantastic first week and I have been so impressed with how well the children have settled into Year 1, along with their enthusiasm for learning. This week we have learned about England, thought about our hopes and goals for what we would like to achieve in Year 1 and welcomed parents into the classroom for our Meet the Teacher session.

Keep checking this page for weekly updates about our learning throughout the year.
