Week ending 13th February 2026
This week, we had the privilege of joining in with another Open the Book Assembly. Some of the children were selected to play the characters of servants, a bride and groom. Well done, Scotland Class!
In Art, we followed our plans and made our final sculptures. There was a variety, some of the children built: bridges, towers, schools, houses and castles. Mrs Wallace and I were very impressed with how precise the children were in their ability to make small incisions with scissors to finalise their masterpieces!
In English, we played a game of super sentences vs silly sentences. The children had to roll the dice, write the sentence and decide whether their sentence was super, or silly!
Week ending 6th February 2026
This week in science, we took part in a mini experiment!
We first read the story, Aliens Love Underpants and talked about different materials suitable for our Alien's underpants.
We sat in a circle and felt various objects: a plastic wallet, sponge, paper, towel and cardboard.
We then discussed the properties of these objects before going to our tables and deciding which material we would use for our Alien's underpants!
Week ending 30th January 2026
This week in Art, we have been learning how to roll and fold paper to make a 3D drawing.
The children did a fantastic job at arranging the paper shapes to make their finalised drawings, and worked lovely as a class in helping each other.
They showed great resilience; here are some of the finished products!
Week ending 23rd January 2026
This week on Wednesday, we had the privilege of taking part in a Disney themed workshop.
Some of the children were up at the front of the workshop, dressing up as many Disney characters and performing to the other children.
We danced, sang and had the most wonderful time!
Week ending 16th January 2026
What a fantastic week in Scotland class!
This week in maths, we have looked at 'First, then and now' stories and applied these stories to our knowledge of equations. The children have used many objects, such as, counters, cubes, dinosaurs and animals, to show both addition and subtraction stories.
The children have also acted out scenarios, to show that the minus sign means taking away from a number and a plus sign means that we combine numbers.
Well done Scotland!
Week ending 9th January 2026
Welcome back Scotland class!
In computing this week, our lesson was all about Online safety and the differences between the online world and the real world.
We looked at the importance of being kind online and in the real world, and showed this through roleplaying different scenarios with our partners.
